Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Service Project Day

On Saturday, January 18, we will honor the impactful work, enduring legacy and faithful commitment of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. to unify people and to serve others in a new way! Rev. King’s frequently asserted John Donne’s devotion that “no man is island unto himself.”  In this spirit, we will affirm that no church is an island unto itself through unity and service. Literally, we will show how two are better than one, and stronger together (Eccl. 4:9-12)!

A CALL TO SERVE TOGETHER:

All Christian Church Capital Area members (as young as 9 years old) and friends are invited to partner with RISE AGAINST HUNGER to make a hands-on impact on global food insecurity by packing meals, and we invite you to join us as meal sponsor.  Your contribution will help reach our goal of packaging 15,000 meals during this event.

  • Shift 1: Set up from 7:30am – 9am;

  • Shift 2: Packing from 9a –11a;
