2027 Healthy Boundaries and Mental Health Training

This event, led by members of the Root Cause Collective, is being sponsored by the CCCA Commission for Ministry. It is the inaugural event of a series of education offerings for both Lay and Clergy Leaders co-sponsored by the newly formed CCCA Institute for Faith and Ministry. Lunch will be provided.

Dakia “Kia” Davis is a licensed social worker and therapist with 15+ years of experience in community and healthcare settings. She integrates mindfulness, psychodynamic, and cognitive therapy to support adults recovering from trauma, major life transitions, and chronic stress. Kia also facilitates trainings, supervises emerging leaders, and provides therapeutic coaching through the Root Cause Collective. She is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and trauma-informed yoga teacher with degrees from UNCG and Howard University.

Reverend Chalice Overy is a spiritual practitioner rooted in the Black church tradition, committed to making encounters with the Divine accessible, liberatory, and culturally resonant. She specializes in spiritual direction, conflict transformation, and culturally authentic practices that honor ancestral wisdom. With over 20 years of congregational leadership, she has guided individuals and communities through growth, transition, and healing, and has designed formation programs that strengthen clarity, emotional maturity, and spiritually grounded decision-making. Chalice holds a Master of Divinity from Duke Divinity School and formal training in Conflict Transformation.
