Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Unity and Service
Saturday, January 17
7:30am-12:45pm
Henson Valley Christian Church
On Saturday, January 17, we will honor the impactful work, enduring legacy and faithful commitment of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. to unify people and to serve others. He frequently asserted John Donne’s devotion that “no man is island unto himself.” In this spirit, we will affirm that no church is an island unto itself through unity and service. We will show how two are better than one, and stronger together (Eccl. 4:9-12)!
A CALL TO SERVE TOGETHER
All Christian Church Capital Area members (as young as 9 years old) and friends are invited to partner with RISE AGAINST HUNGER to make a hands-on impact on global food insecurity by packing meals, and we invite you to join us as meal sponsor. Last year, we achieved our goal of packaging 15,000 meals; help us reach our new goal of 20,000 this year!
