Welcome To The Christian Church Capital Area!

So, you are a Disciples of Christ clergy person, and you have recently moved to Maryland, Washington, DC, Delaware, Northern Virginia, or the Eastern panhandle of West Virginia. You are now a part of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) Capital Area Region! Welcome! We are glad to have you with us.

Once you get moved in, there are a few things you will need to do to insure that your Ministerial Standing is transferred smoothly and quickly from your former Region to the Capital Area.

  1. Notify the Regional Minister, or designated staff person, of your former Region to write a “Letter Of Good Standing” indicating that you left in good standing. This letter can be e-mailed to the Capital Area via Ministry@cccadisciples.org, mailed to the attention of the Regional Minister, Capital Area Region, 8814 Kensington Pkwy., Ste. 208, Chevy Chase, MD 20815-6743, or both.

  2. Contact Rev. Jeffrey Stinehelfer, Interim Regional Minister of the Capital Area, to introduce yourself. His e-mail is JStinehelfer@cccadisciples.org and his phone number is 240-988-5996

  3. If you are in good standing in your former Region, this should be enough to move your standing to the Capital Area. You will be asked to fill out a Standing Renewal Form to maintain that standing and keep the Regional Office/Minister up to date on your contact information, joys, and concerns.

  4. It is always a wonderful thing to request a meeting with the Capital Area Commission For Ministry to get acquainted with some of the lay and clergy leaders of the Region, but this is not required. To request a meeting, e-mail the Commission at Ministry@cccadisciples.org.

  5. You will want to connect with the Region via social media: our Facebook Page is at: https://www.facebook.com/cccadisciple and our Twitter account is @cccadisciples.org. We are on Instagram at: ChristianChurchCapitalArea
