Camp & Conference Program Support & Registrar:

The Christian Church (Disciples Of Christ) Capital Area is seeking to fill a part-time, seasonal Camp & Conference Program Support position to work as the Camp Registrar and to support staff and volunteers in the Region's church camp and conference program. This person will work primarily with the Regional Minister, Regional Administrative Assistant, and the Outdoor Ministry Committee.

This person will register all campers and conferees, including processing online CampDocs registrations and receiving and enter paper applications into the database, follow-up on incomplete applications and medical forms, record registration payments for deposit, provide registration status reports to Camp Directors, ensure all Directors and Counselors have background checks and abuse-prevention training completed, create and distribute Director Packets prior to each camp, maintain and archive all Camp forms files in the Regional Office, and invoice for Camper Fee balances due-in from Churches and 3rd parties. This person will communicate camper reservation counts, food and other allergy information, special needs, and other camp-specific information the Camp Mary Mac Manager and the Conference Center Host prior to each Camp event, and provide reports as requested.

While much of this work can be done offsite, it will require time at the Regional Office in Chevy Chase, Maryland, especially during the peak camp and conference season (May – August).

Required skills include significant computer proficiency, including demonstrable skill with MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word, database data entry and records management, and familiarity with report generation. Good people skills, especially working with camper parents and camp directors. Responsible and diligent in responding to communication and trustworthy in working with money. An understanding and familiarity with camp and conference programming of some kind is a must. An ability to work under pressure during the days prior to each event will be essential.

Help Wanted – Seasonal Cook Position:  The Christian Church Conference Center in Bethany Beach desires a seasonal Assistant Cook.  The facility hosts groups of 15 to 80 guests during spring/fall weekends & all summer.  Duties include support to the Center Host/Manager to plan healthy menus & purchase orders, ensure sanitary food preparation, and train assistants.  Must be available for at least four lunch & dinner shifts per week in summer & on most Saturday nights Mid-May through October.  Must have “ServSafe Food Safety Manager” Cert. and driver’s license.  Background check required.
